Fresher’s Festival Branding

Underground users will be familiar with some of our work as we were chosen by Scotcampus to design the new branding for the Fresher’s Festival, an annual event that hosts thousands of Glasgow’s new students in George Square. The full branding spread across wristbands, flyers, posters, magazine adverts, exhibitor passes  and banners.

CD Artwork for The Big Figure

Some new portfolio work landed in the studio yesterday, when we received a CD copy of the new album ‘Laugh Like Clowns’ by the Scottish band, The Big Figure.
We were approached by the main band members, Sam and Calum during the summer to help bring visuals to their distinct sound.
The band name is open for suggestion. ‘The Big Figure’ doesn’t relate to any one person or thing, but rather suggested something grand and undefinable. We took that as the main direction for the artwork.
We mulled over various suggestions but the band really liked the option of creating rorschach blots where people could create their own ‘big figure’ from the artwork.

The business card of a widely travelled Graphic Designer

I was running out of business cards.

I normally have a wedge of them in my wallet and realised, when visiting a client and presenting him with a card that the wedge had been replaced by an assortment of underground and rail tickets.
This sparked a new direction away from the usual matt laminted route. These tickets were a sticker and paint spray away from being a business card.
Yesterday, I picked come stickers up from the local printer, spray paint from the craft shop and newspaper for the train journey home.
A quick spray and stick later, some very unique, quirky cards advertising my wares.
